Cast of Cadillac Crew-Sept. 2025

Cast of Polkadots: The Cool Kids Musical- Nov. 2025

This season, Ebony Road Players celebrated Black women by presenting  eye-opening productions like Tori Sampson’s Cadillac Crew, Song for Coretta by Pearl Cleage, and an amazing production of Polkadots: The Cool Kids Musical, by Douglas Lyons. More than 900 Grand Rapids Public School students experienced this vibrant production that was inspired by stories of Ruby Bridges and  the Little Rock Nine.

Beyond the stage, our Visionary Academy and Story2Stage programs continue to empower both youth and adults to find their voices, express their creativity, and use the arts as a catalyst for change. These educational programs are incubators for theatre exploration and opportunities  in acting, writing, and stagecraft in the BIPOC community.

Even though we are uniquely equipped to be educators, performers, and catalysts for positive change, we continue to face challenges: the steady minimization of arts funding. Theater companies and arts educators like those through Ebony Roads Players are feeling the strain of reduced resources, and we know that the arts are not a luxury; they are essential. To continue doing  this critical work, we need you. Your meaningful gifts amplify voices that deserve to be heard and mobilize critical conversations. Your action today positions Ebony Road Players for a 2026 that creates:

· Inclusive community growth

· Increased willingness to engage in challenging conversations

·Stronger community bonds through the practice of civility
